Click to view the video. I recreated McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet in #kerbal_space_program. I spent a lot of time on the realistic navigation lights. The green light strips are Formation Lights, which supposedly help when flying in formation at night. They are green on both sides.

Sometimes the simples #kerbal_space_program planes are the most fun to fly. This one is so simple but it's the one I like flying most. It's really small, has a long range, can do VTOL (if the tanks aren't full) and can fold up to fit inside a larger plane.

I finally managed to create a well working VTOL aircraft in #kerbal_space_program. Inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II and the Harrier Jump Jet.

Controls

1: Main engines
2: After burner
3: VTOL Flight
4: Thrust reverser on VTOL engines
- Used for quickly stopping the engines on touchdown
5: Normal forward orientation
6: Vertical orientation
- for VTOL, use Radial out SAS mode to stabilize
7: Slightly angled orientation
- for level flight using SAS. Used with Radial out SAS mode
0: Drop all payload at once
