Saw this cool graffiti in Antwerp. I took the picture to google it, to see if it is a song lyric or something. Can't find anything. But I really like this picture, especially the color composition.

Statues in Brussels

Brussels has a lot of weird statues. Here's a few of them. Some of them are peeing, which made them very famous.

Statue of a small boy peeing, called "Manneken Pis". It will wear a costume every few days.

Statue of a small girl peeing, called "Jeanneke Pis".

Statue of a dog peeing, called "Het Zinneke".

Statue of Winston Churchill (not peeing). I saw it in the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History.

The gun, drugs, ashtray and the bottle are all made out of Lego.

The gun is modeled after a Glock 17 and is loosely based on the design of MyDifferentUserName, although the interior is radically different and much more solid, at a cost of a minor bit of realism.

Ashtray

All "ash" in the ashtray are attached, so you can't spill any ash. I actually think it looks very good. I had various people do a double-take when seeing it for the first time.

Pills

The pills are just Lego 1x1 cylinders in a small baggy.

Cocaine

The "cocaine" is just a makeup mirror and some white Lego bricks.

Bottle

The bottle is just the bottle from 21313-1: Ship in a Bottle. Vimja lent that to me.

Bear Park (Bärenpark) Bern has set up a Webcam in one of the winter dens of one of their bears, Björk.

This web cam was just a static image that changes every half minute or so. When I discovered this sometimes in January I started saving that image every 30 seconds and have been doing that for 2 months now. I have over 182'000 snapshots of that camera (over 5.4 GB). I compiled them into this video. Using sunrise-sunset.org I figured at which times it is dark, so I removed all these photos.

Their hibernation period has now ended and they're outside more often.

I created a new profile picture for myself. I took a lot of inspiration from cyberpunk art. Especially this one by Rafael Moco. which is itself a recreation of the Brazilian cover of Neuromancer by Josan Gonzales. I even have the pointless Band-Aid.

Super blood moon

The long awaited lunar eclipse finally happened. So I got up at 4:00 and went out and snapped some photos.

Saturdays test photos were useless. It took completely different settings to capture the eclipse.

The weather was perfect. The night was crystal clear so even if the annoying farmers and their stupid light machines were driving around the fields no light was back scattered by mist.

This was my second time trying to photograph a lunar eclipse. The first time was in 2011 when I just got the camera and was over lake Geneva.
